This is the stupidest of all door locks. I used to live in an apartment where the main door had one of these. I used to get locked out so many times, and only way in was to jump balconies. It was not fun to perform spider man stunts at 4th floor.

I always test this be keeping the door opened :). I will keep the door opened and lock the knob inside.Then try to open it from outside to make sure that lock works as designed

Thank you umesh.. Its a good post and I think it wouldve been great if you gave some more examples that re-iterate your thought abt user experience being a balance between many aspects of design :)
